The history of the Park Shore district began in 1964, when Raymond Lutgert purchased 760 acre undeveloped land parcel in Naples, Florida. Raymond Lutgert brought in a team of architects, land planners, and engineers during the next four years and established the first planned development district in the State of Florida. The result of the collaboration was a conceptual masterpiece, so much so that it served as a model for future development.
Park Shore has the largest homeowners association in the city and was originally platted by The Lutgert Companies. There are more than 600 single family homes, 25 high rise condos, midrise condos, and commercial real estate properties that make up the Park Shore community. Plats 1, 3, and 4 consist mostly of single-family homes and mid rise condos. Plats 2 and 5 are high rise condos, a mix of homes and mid rise condos.
The Lutgert Companies built Park Shore from 1970 to 1983. Their first Florida condominium, Colony Gardens, was a combination of townhomes with private docks on the bay and mid-rise apartments. The year after completing Colony Gardens, the company built Horizon House, the tallest and most luxurious building at the time. The trifecta was completed in 1976 with the construction of Venetian Villas.
Twelve years later, one of the most unique and creatively designed shopping areas was introduced, the Village on Venetian Bay. The Village on Venetian Bay was enhanced in 1990 with a second phase and offers a truly unique shopping experience.
About twenty years after the initial groundbreaking of Park Shore, the developers created yet another amazing development, The Vistas, followed by Le Parc in 1990 and the Enclave in 1991. Park Shore matured into one of the most premier locations in Southwest Florida by the mid 1990's. Today, Park Shore continues to offer hundreds of amenities and attractsresidents and travelers from all over the world.
